Distribution is one of the most value-added links on the supply chain. Many enterprises and districts have set up distribution centre in order to reduce the cost and enhance the economic efficiency. The facilities planning of distribution centre is one of the key themes of distribution centre design. In this thesis, the facilities planning and simulation of distribution centre are studied by means of Systematic Layout Planning, Operational Research, Fuzzy Mathematics and Flexsim Software, unifying the project of designing the distribution practice room of Zhejiang Vocational College of Commerce. In Chapter 1, the concepts, significance and the developing status of distribution centre are introduced. Then, the research areas of modern logistics facilities planning are discussed. In addition, the research state of modern logistics facilities planning and simulation are described. Finally, the main contents and structure of the thesis are given. In Chapter 2, a theory called Systematic Layout Planning is used to the layout planning of distribution centre. The basic flows of layout planning using systematic layout planning are introduced, then, the distribution practice room of Zhejiang Vocational College of Commerce is designed to illustrate and demonstrate the validity and feasibility of the presented methodology. In Chapter 3, the path planning of automated guided vehicle system (AGVS) in distribution centre is studied. A network mode of AGVS's path is designed based on the Graph Theory. Dijkstra algorithm, cooperating with a strategy, is applied to select the optimal routing. In Chapter 4, based on Flexsim simulation software, dynamic simulation models of dirtibution center are built. The running condition of distribution centre is realized through analyzing the simulation result. The amount of salver is established through evaluating the utilization of salver. And also the correctness of AGVS is validated through simulation. In Chapter 5, an evaluating system of facilities planning is proposed for distribution centre. Theories and methodologies of Fuzzy Mathematics are used to set up the evaluating model, besides, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is introduced to allot the criteria weights. In Chapter 6, the review and conclusions of this thesis are summarized and the future research work is sketched out.
