Stress, as a common social psychological phenomenon, is a special emotional and physical reflection when one is affected by various factors in out surrounding, which has attracted many researchers. Humanists concentrate on the nature of stress; psychiatrists have discussed its source and expression, while managers pay more attention to the relation between stresses and staff's performance. With the deepening of enterprises reform and the quicker life pace in modern society, employees have to face many psychological problems caused by heavy psychological stress which directly influence employees' working statement, further, the effectiveness of enterprises. Thus, it's necessary to help staff access the stress and choose correct and effective methods to lighten it by studying its source, effect and people's experiences. This paper studies job stress from three aspects, namely: source, effect and solution. The methodology of study investigates staff from four hotels in Changsha by questionnaires with analyzing data by Hierarchical Cluster Analysis in statistic program SPSS 13.0. According to the statistically valid results, 81.2% of the respondents have realized the effect made by job stress. Among those samples their sources of job stress are from obscure of role, overloading of role, role conflict, and sense of domination, social competence and social backup. While the effects of stress behaviors, which influence are finally performed on hotels via psychological and physical. As to the solution, most of which chosen by respondents are proper, however, employees tend to hold negative and indifferent attitude to psychologists and psychological therapies, probably because of the underdevelopment of Medicine care in China and people's relevant thoughts. It's clear that ignoring job stress not only does harm for employees' psychological healthy but also leads to economic loss for hotels. To reduce the loss caused by stress, this paper examines the principles and schemes, which are combined with EAP (a modern management Method) to help staff to tackle problems brought by job stress from two aspects-individual and hotel organization.
