Study On The Operation Management Of Virtual Software Corporations

As the development of the global IT, the scope and the degree of complication of software system are becoming greater. Users have heavier demand on the software systems. It is quiet difficult for single software corporation to meet all requirement of software development with the resources and knowledge it owns. The foundation of virtual software corporation, which inherits from the enterprise and management schema of virtual enterprise, makes use of preponderant resources and expertise that could not be collected by single software company to meet all requirement of software development, has become the direction of the development of global IT industry. Firstly, the meaning of virtual software Corporation (VSC) is researched in the paper. The character of VSC is summarized and the corporation schema is discussed. Then, the operational model of VSC is analyzed from the lay of organization, project and knowledge separately, by taking the mode of alliance leagued by a leader as an example.Secondly, on the base of analyzing the VSC's special need on partner, the evaluating architecture on partners selecting of VSC is established. Then the cooperative desire of potential partners has been brought into the selecting process, based on it, a new method to select partners has been presented.Thirdly, the software process mode of VSC is established, which is divided into four phases: primary analysis and design, system disassemble and distribution, implementation of subsystem and system integration. The basic problems in the process of software development of VSC in these phases are researched.Finally, on the base of analyzing the important effect of performance appraisal on successful operation of VSC, the problems of performance evaluation of VSC is researched on the two aspects of whole VSC and single partner. The balanced score card of evaluating whole operational performance of VSC is founded. Then the evaluating between each partner has been brought into the process of partner appraisal. Moreover, this new appraisal method evaluates every partner's performance level on the two aspects of cooperate result and cooperate process.
