Ecotourism has become a mode for nature reserve development pattern in our country. The research on ecotourism in these areas is a hotspots topic of general interest. Kanas Nature Reserve Xinjiang is located in the west arid area of China, which has special objects for protection. The objects being protected are unique in many aspects. The researches on it are of high value. These areas will be hard to recover once being destroyed since the ecological environment is quite fragile. In the detailed development plans of tourism in Kanas Nature Reserve, the pattern is also oriented as ecotourism. Thus, the study on developing the ecotourism in Kanas is rather representative among the researches within this field. After investigating Kanas Nature Reserve, we find there exist some conflicts in orienting and operation of ecotourism. The tour developing has damaged the local environment in different degrees. It is mainly manifested in the degeneration of the natural environment, the disappearance of the species and the man-made scenes in nature reserve. All of these are against the original intention of the theme, which is, developing the ecotourism and protecting nature reserve. The reasons are as the following: (1) Lacking the scientific knowledge of the"ecotourism", too much emphasis was paid on the quick profits at present and the aim of protection was ignored in nature reserve. Therefore, nature reserve was developed as an ordinary scenery spots. Ecotourism was nothing but a slogan in the process of developing; (2) In developing ecotourism in nature reserves, the restricted function of macro-factors (i.e., the mechanical system in these areas, the backward thoughts and the stagnant laws) restricted its development as well; (3) Since tourists in China usually has long preferred to the mass-tourism, they went to some spots only for once.
