Labor relations is an important factor which affecting the country's economic development. It also a direct factor which affects labor costs, productivity and ultimately profits. However, the number of Chinese labor dispute cases is rising in recent years. In these cases, private enterprises become the main focus because of their own characteristics and proportions. Thus, it is important to evaluate and solute the labor relations of private enterprise.This paper first reviews the relevant literature about labor relations and evaluation both of domestic and abroad. On this basis, the characteristics and influencing factors of private enterprise labor relations are analyzed. After preparing these theories, this paper sets preliminary indicators. The preliminary indicators avoid missing any important indicator. During the initial set of indicators, indicators of discernment analysis, correlation analysis and other objective methods are used to select the representative and important indicators. After that, factor analysis is used to determine the weight of indicators and improve the structure of indicators. This paper finally shapes the evaluation index system for labor relations in private enterprises, and widely applies the evaluation index system to evaluate the labor relations of current Chinese private enterprises.Through the research of this paper, the evaluation index system for labor relations in private enterprises is designed of 3 level indicators and 25 secondary targets. The 3 level indicators include wage compensation and labor and employment conditions, labor contracts and organizational management, social security and labor disputes. Through the application of the evaluation index system, the labor relations of current Chinese private enterprises is evaluated. The evaluation results have reflected the status of labor relations and proved the scientific, reasonable and feasible.
