Improving the workers'standard of living not only needs enhance their incomes, but also needs protect them from unnecessary occupational damages. It is important to make all workers work in healthy and safe environment for building the socialist harmonious society. Most construction employees are migrant workers, they live at the bottom in the society for long time. Their physical and mental health problems have become increasingly prominent because of the work and life pressures. So the study on occupational health condition of construction employees is a practical topic.The occupational health of construction employees includes physical health and mental health. Firstly, this paper chose the standardized surveys as the master method after comparing all methods of studying quality of life and all kinds of general surveys about quality of life. This paper tested the perfomance of the Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey by factor analysis, reliability and validity tests and the SF-36 is feasible and valid for the construction employees. Secondly, this paper analyzed the relativity between the quality of life of construction employees and the demographic indexs including sex, age, education, the place of origin. The result was that the scores in construction employees'physical health field were higher than average level and the scores in construction employees'mental health field were lower than average level after comparing score of each dimension in SF-36 with Hangzhou data and U.S.data. Thirdly, this paper anaylzed the influential factors of each dimension in SF-36 by multiple linear regression analysis. Finally, based the conclusions of the quality of life of construction employees, this paper took some proposals for policy, business and individual. They might be references for improving the occupational health of construction employees.
