Study On The Direct Investment Of Multinational Corporation To China Under View Of Position Choice And Region Economy Growth

With the integrative global economy, all countries in the whole world raise up the freeness degree of FDI. As a big developing country, China which experiences the reform and opening up during the past 30 years obtained a remarkable achievement on the utilization of foreign direct investment. At current condition, China is in face of many important problems. Lots of inland provinces begin to implement the opening economic development strategies. Foreign investment is becoming more and more importance in developing area economy. Base on this point of view, how to grasp the rules of position choice from foreign investment, how to utilize FDI in order to push the development of our economy, the upgrade of industry's configuration and technology, how to extend the employment, exert FDI positive effect in area economy and evade its negative effect, it's the significance of this research. The purpose of the dissertation is to discuss the policy and measures for our country to improve the FDI of transnational corporations,taking Pearl River Delta Region as an example, based on the analysis on status quo of location choice by transnational corporation direct investment and summing-up of the China's economic growth effects made by multinational direct investment.The dissertation consists of five parts. The first is the background, significance and research situation of the subject. The second part is the summary of the existing literature, which introduce the mainstream theory of transnational corporations,the location choice theory and the economic growth theory in the main line of foreign direct investment. The third part elaborates on FDI in China geographical distribution,analyzes the qualitative factors of FDI location choice in the Pearl River Delta Region,and conducts and empirical analysis. The forth part analyzes the economic growth effects of FDI in the Pearl River Delta Region based on three dimensions of optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,technological progress and employment. And on this basis,it conducts an empirical analysis. The fifth part explains the current status and problems of China utilization of FDI,puts forward a new trend of direct investment in China,combined with the situation of the Financial Tsunami,and explores the responses and measures of using higher-quality FDI on the basis of inspiration in the use of FDI on China Pearl River Delta region to other regions.
