New Features Of World Trade Protection In Global Financial Crisis And The Strategy Of China

The development of trade protection theory is along with the world's economic conditions. With the outbreak of global financial crisis in 2008, some trepidation about trade protection has translated into reality, both developed and developing countries take a number of trade measures such as import restriction and export stimulation. According to statistics, relevant laws and regulations of protecting trade are on the rise. It is necessary to study a variety of current world trade protection features, trend, theoretical explanations and the impact on China.The paper uses the following methods: integration of history and reality analysis, economic and political analysis, macro and micro analysis, case studies and theoretical research are also combined. It regards new features of trade protection as the research object, summarizes trade protection theory on the basis of existing research and studies the current trade protection issues. Then it compares the similarities and differences between forms of trade protection during two different periods in history. In order to explain motivation of trade protection, the article selects a representative case to in-depth analyze the formulation of trade policy. In the end, the paper discusses recent trade disputes about China and proposes relevant recommendations.Results indicate that non-tariff barriers are the most current forms of current trade protection. Trade protection characteristics of developed and developing countries are totally different. Strategic industries are the focus of trade protection and current trade protection is strongly affected by new political economy. When formulating a trade policy, it tends to be about civil political interests, industrial safety and employment. With the increase of China's economic strength, trade disputes are more and more popular. Trade protection is a good method to contain China's growth and gain more benefits.
