The Influnence Of Top Executives International Background On International Alliance Formation

As complexity and uncertainty of the competitive environment increases, the Top Management Team (TMT) becomes the key factor which influences the value creation and long-term success,and it has been proved to be the final drive of value creation,performance and strategic activities et al. Based on the Relationship Capital Theory, we intend to study the relationship between TMT and CEO international background and international alliance.After review on Upper-echelon theory, alliance and environment uncertainty, we argue the relationship between TMT international background and international alliance, and the relationship between CEO international background and international alliance, even to test that the moderating role of environment uncertainty on these relationship.In this study, the data is collected on the WIND database. The software EXCEL and SPSS 18.0 are used to do data analysis. Firstly, we tested the correlation between all the variables with descriptive statistical analysis; then, we tested all the hypotheses in this study with regression analysis.Our study found that TMT international background will positively influence international alliance, and environment uncertainty has improved this positive influence; also our study found that CEO international background will positively influence on international alliance, and environment uncertainty has no significant moderating role.
