The Research On The Inbound Tourism Development Situation Of Chinese Historical And Cultural Cities

Historical and cultural accumulation and brilliant chinese civilization are embodied by historical and cultural cities,which is a window of our country and nation attracting many domestic and oversees with its great tourism value and tourism function,and it plays a significant role in the network of tourism in China. Inboud tourism is a industry which comparatively explored early and eveloped fast.In recent years,China's inboud tourism has rapid development which has great impact on tourism fame and status of China in international place. Inbound tourism of the historical and cultural cities promote its country's and city's tourism.The research in China on the development of inboud tourism of historical and cultural city mainly focuses on the individual cities,such as Beijing,Xi'an,Suzhou, and others cities,but the study on the overall development of the inboud tourism is comparatively less.In this paper, the first batch of 16 historical and cultural cities are chosed as an example to illustrate the following:the position of of inboud tourism of historical and cultural cities in a country or cities'inboud tourism;the position in its provincial inboud tourism;the factors which affect its development;the overall characteristics of inboud tourisms and the overall features of the source countries'distribution,thus drawing the following conclusions:First,the inboud tourism of historical and cultural cities play great roles in a country or cities'inboud tourism.In2000-2007,the inboud tourism's income of 15 historical and cultural cities takes up about 30% in a country's inboud tourism income,and 40% in inboud tourism's income of 60 cities.Second,the position of inboud tourism of historical and cultural cities in its provicial varies for its political and economical development,geographical distribution and other factors,for instance,in 2000-2007,the income of inboud tourism of Xi'an,takes up 80% in Shanxi province while Datong is about 20%.Third,some status of inboud tourism of historical and cultural cities doesn't match with its historical and cultural values and the city title,such as Datong.Fourth,oversees tourists constitute a large number in incoming tourists of historical and cultural cities,and tourists in Taiwan and Hongkong comparatively less,and Macao ,the least.The situation contradicts with the fact of the nation's,but a few cities are exceptions,such as Guangzhou and Quanzhou , Hongkong's tourists are the most.Fifth,the source countries'distribution of historical and cultural cities are largely in East Asia and Pacific Ocean areas,Among them,Japan and Korea are the most important source countries,and America less.Sixth,the inboud tourism of historical and cultural cities should be developed according to the Place,adopting various strategies and measures in tourism advertisement,tourism marketing, tourism policy and regulation.
