A Study On Constructing Engineering Culture Of Large-scale Construction Projects Based On Systems Theory

This dissertation, based on the System Theory, points out the importance of construction of engineering culture. It demonstrates the elementary factors which build the system of engineering culture, studies on the elements, external environment, and the structure of the system as well. It also researches on the characteristics and behavior of the system, especially on the evolution of the system of engineering culture. Basically there are two paths that system elements follow dynamically. The former is the path of hetero-organization, while the latter is self-organization. According to the two paths, this dissertation finds out the difference from the formation and the construction of engineering culture. Then, it analyzes the factors which contribute to the construction of engineering culture. After that, construction modes are established by clarifying the boundary of target groups, in order to simplify the complicated progress of construction of engineering culture.This dissertation establishes fundamental elements, such like the subject, target groups, external environment and projects activities, which are directly connected with constructing engineering culture. According to these fundamental elements, this dissertation believes the construction factors originated from fundamental elements are of great importance for constructing engineering culture. Then, it provides two patterns; one is called "Control Pattern", while the other is called "Inducement Pattern". Thus, following hetero-organization path and self-organization path based on above frame, system elements are to form the construction of engineering culture.At last, it provides the assessment of engineering culture by the way of AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The results are useful for making decision for constructing engineering culture.13 indexes are key points to assess the effectiveness of the construction system of engineering culture.
