In modern society, energy is the foundation of a national economic development. Energy consumption structure determines a country's economic structure and future direction. It is related to the speed and quality of economic growth, and affects the environment and the satisfaction of all the people. Energy consumption structure is an important indicator which could not only measure the development level but also judge the sustainability level of a country and a region.Energy as an element input plays an important role in the decision of the industrial output, and then in the industrial structure transformation. Therefore, there is a theoretical basis on the study of the impact from energy consumption structure to the industrial structure. On the other hand, the energy consumption structure is decided by energy supply and demand, economic and social development level, the advance of science and technology and national energy policy. And the impacts of all the occasions are in the different economic environment. In another words, the energy consumption structure can not be fully formed by the "invisible hand" in the market. In China, the most important root of the energy consumption structure is the supply of the energy, because of the special economic environment. And what decide the supply of energy resource are the natural endowments, mining and transport related technologies, other objective factors, and the most important reason--- the energy policy. Therefore, the study on the impact of the energy consumption structure transformation on industrial structure is of a great practical significance. Also, there is little study on the similar subject, especially on this angle of view. So this study also has an important theoretical significance.Based on the energy consumption history in China from 1956 to 2008, I separated the transformation history of our country's energy consumption structure into four stages: from 1956 to 1977, from 1978 to 1996, from 1997 to 2001, and from 2002 to 2008. The analysis of the four stage shows that the energy consumption structure and industrial structure are closely related. Also through the matrix analysis on the energy consumption structure and industry structure years based on data from 1998 to 2007, I can conclude that: in the second industries, the structured product of electric power is bigger than coal and oil; in the tertiary industries, the structured products of electric power and oil are equal, but much bigger than coal; in the primary industries, the structured products of oil is biggest. In other words, the supply control of electric power could make a huge impact on the secondary industry and tertiary industry; the supply control of oil could make a impact on tertiary industry and the secondary industry, and the impact on tertiary industry is bigger.
