Automotive seating assembly line balancing and production optimization was studied in thispaper.Firstly, Just-in-time production mode of mixed automotive seating was analyzed to achievebalance-based production. Multi-varieties and small-batch mode works well for automotiveseating production.Secondly, mixed automotive seating assembly line was investigated using movementanalysis method. Redundant and invalid operations were eliminated to optimize the entireproduction line and to improve the assembly line balancing rates.Finally, mathematical programming model was built from the angle of minimizing thecellular manufacturing cycle time. Production ratio method and Matlab programming wereadopted to obtain the optimized scheduling scheme. Feasibility and validity was verified usingFlexsim simulation.The study in this paper can be used for reference in automotive seating schedulingtheoretically and practically. |
