A Research On The Ancient Righteousness Thought

Righteousness and Benefit is the ethical and moral standards people should follow in their pursuit of material benefits. The thought of Righteousness and Benefit is the ideas or theories put forward in order to correctly handle the economic relations of various interests in economic activities. In China's long period of feudal society, Righteousness and Benefit thought has been the basis of people's ideological and theoretical, guiding and constraining their economic activities. For over two thousand years, it has been constantly elaborated and probed in accordance with the needs of the times, resulting in an enormously rich thought of Righteousness and Benefit with Chinese characteristics.In this paper, the Marxist perspective has been used to analyze, stricture and summarize the ancient thought of Righteousness and Benefit, making reference to the ancient for enlightenment of today to establish and use the appropriate Righteousness and Benefit thought under conditions of China's socialist market economy. This paper first explores the concept and content of righteousness and Benefit thought; Secondly, it analyzes the main content and features of the Confucian, Mohism, Taoism and Legalism, as well discusses the formation and development of the traditional thought of Righteousness and Benefit from the Pre-Qin, West Han to Qing and Ming dynasty; And then, it outlines some inspirations from the ancient thought of righteousness and Benefit; Finally, combining with the contemporary economic and social development,it sets forth the necessity and the main approach to adopt the socialist thought of Righteousness and Benefit.
