China is the first coal production country in the world, coal of which is the main power with occupancy rate at more than 70%. Along with the increasing of coal output, the mechanization has been developing fast, and more and more coal machinery manufacturers are coming out and developing rapidly due to the greater marketing demand. Many foreign coal machineries have been attracted to China, the price of which is more than three times of that of Chinese product with lead time more than six months. However, they has been accepted well by Chinese coal industry because of their high quality. The marketing demand of coal machinery changes quickly, it is required that high quality mining machinery, in aspects of excavating, mining and transporting, should be manufactured during short period, while the safety and reliability of which should be the same as that of aeronautic industry, that is, there should not be any fault during operation. Under this circumstance, Chinese coal machinery manufacturers are facing great challenge. How to meet the marketing demand, consolidate the predominance and develop fast? It is more and more important to develop the supply chain strategy. This paper aims to discuss the strategic countermeasure by generally analyzing supply chain of coal machinery manufacturers.The first chapter is a brief introduction of the research background, purpose, significance, approach, and contents of this paper. The following quote reveals the necessity and importance of establishing supply chain in an enterprise. Existing in the market of 21 century are supply chains rather than enterprises. Market competition will be competition between supply chains rather than enterprises.In the second chapter, the author makes an objective judgment of the current situation of supply chain in Chinese mining industry by analyzing its general situation and existing problems. A further comparison between SANYI and other coal machinery manufacturers at home and abroad exposes the problems of SANYI supply chain. It is therefore quite necessary to improve the supply chain strategy of SANYI.The third chapter is a detailed statement of the external environment of SANYI by using theoretical analysis tools. Firstly, by adopting PEST, the author analyzes the macro external environment that affects the development of an enterprise including political, economic, technological, and social environment. Secondly, by using PORTER, the author analyzes the industry environment of SANYI from the following 5 factors: new competitors, substitute products, bargaining ability of the buyer, bargaining ability of the seller, and existing competition.The fourth chapter is a detailed analysis of the internal environment of SANYI. The author analyzes the overall resource of SANYI including production base, human resource, assets situation, and invisible assets. The competitiveness of SANYI internal supply chain is revealed by its technology innovation, lean production, group procurement, and enterprise culture. Lastly, by SWOT analysis and integration of enterprise strategy into internal, external environment, the author judges the advantage and disadvantage, opportunity and threat of SANYI.The fifth chapter clarifies the overall strategic goal and competitive measure of SANY. Correspondent supply chain strategy is designed in accordance with the strategic objective.The sixth chapter proposes specific implementation measures of constructing supply chain in reference to the strategy of SANYI. Process capacity of supply chain can be realized by accurate market forecast, lean production management, accurate and timely logistics, strict supplier selection, and purchasing strategy improvement. Technology capacity of supply chain can be optimized by modularity design, standard design, innovation introduction, cooperation and creation. Management capacity of supply chain can be achieved by performance evaluation optimization, better group cooperation, and integrated organization.
