Research On The Evaluation Of Construction Project Contractor Risk Under EPC Model

In the international project management practices,EPC (Engineering,Procurement and Construction) contracting model is widely used,and it's extremely popular with its unique advantages in the general contracting market,and in our country, Ministry of construction promote it vigorously.Under EPC contract mode, the general contractor increases his profits, strengthens his contract rights,but the risk he bears is getting higher. For the general contractor, risk management is very important,and risk identification and evaluation is the basis of risk management,so,the research on the the evaluation of the contractor's risk under EPC model is of practical significance.All kinds of risk factors EPC contractor faced commonly constitutes the project's overall risk,and risk evaluation is to analysis and evaluate the various uncertainties and all kinds of influence and effect being caused properly. At present, there are lots of project risk evaluation methods,but not a universal method, all is further perfected, this is well known.Consider the EPC contract project's characteristics that all the risk factors is interaction,mutual restrict and feedback,and it's difficult to describe quantitatively with accurate data, comprehensive the network hierarchy process and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, this article constructs the evaluation model with the Fuzzy-network analysis for the contractor, calculates and deduces the weights of various risk factors, in order to draw a more reasonable project risk assessment level.As the research object of the contractor risk factors under EPC model,this paper introduces the risk management status and progress unde EPC general contract model; expounds the EPC mode's related concepts, characteristics and the basic theory of risk management; summarizes the risks factors contractor faced, combined with proper identification method and refered FIDIC silver leather books relevant provision; select the fuzzy network analysis evaluation method, constructs the fuzzy network model on contractor's risk evaluation under EPC model;finally,discusses the application of fuzzy network analysis though a case,and put forward some suggestions of developing EPC mode according to relevant research and understanding.Through this paper,we can see that fuzzy network analysis applied in EPC model contractor risk evaluation is feasible and has application value.
