With the development of urbanization, the demand for land use becomes increasingly higher. The contradiction between people and land is obvious and the relative problem is exposed from land use in many cities. What is more, the rational use of construction land has become the focus of the community. Therefore, the study on the intensive use of construction land is not only beneficial to the theory of land use but also has a very positive practice guidance on land use in some cities.In this paper, it proposes the connotation of intensive land use, the need for intensive use of construction land as well as its theoretical basis and the establishment of factor analysis from the characteristics of the content of urban land. Taking Huaihua city as an example, first established the evaluation index system of intensive use, and then select a unit investment in fixed assets of construction land, construction land per capita and other indicators of Huaihua 9 intensive use of land for construction to evaluate. Combination of AHP and expert consultation is used to determine the weight and the use of multi-factor evaluation model is to evaluate the intensity.It concluded that intensity of land in Huaihua obtained score of 82.20%, construction land use status score of 85.13 percent, land use efficiency score to 79.26%, which shows that level of intensive use of land is relatively high. But many problems exist and it should take effective measures to improve land use efficiency and the use of construction land intensively and efficiently in a better way.
