A Study On The Developing History Of Maanshan Steel

Maanshan Steel is a giant steel company and fundamental steel production China. It resumed production in 1953. After fifty years of hard work and rolling development, it has developed from a small iron works to a large-scale corporation with a capacity of 1,200 tons of crude steel production nowadays. At present it has a world-class production lines of cold-rolled sheet, galvanized sheet, color coated, H--Beam, high-speed line (bar) material, high-speed wheel etc, and the main equipment has been modernized and a large-scale of 70% of the facilities have been ranked world-first, forming a unique product structure covering "board, beam, wire, wheel".Based on the extensive information collected, absorbing and learning from previous studies, adopting science of history and other related scientific theory and method, this paper tries to make a research on the development of Maanshan Steel in different historical periods and its historical growing process. Meanwhile, this paper strives to study the development of production and management and the profound meaning of corporation culture in different economic conditions, particularly in the socialist market economy, hence to study the outstanding contributions Maanshan Steel having made to national and local economic development.The thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter I tells the evolution of Maanshan Steel, beginning from Ma Anshan Iron Works, the predecessor of Maanshan Steel, then the development process during the foundation period, and the great changes since the carrying out of China's "Open and Reform Policy" in 1978.This chapter also illustrates the development since the joint-stock enterprise reform in 1993, and Ma Steel's expansion of business since 1998. The second chapter gives the full description of the development of Maanshan Steel from the management development of iron, steel making, rolling and other production and significant technological innovations and inventions, as well as the social impact of the economic benefits brought by the development of the cooperation. The third chapter mainly dwells on the cultural development of Maanshan Steel and its significance played a huge scale to the enterprise development. The fourth chapter studies the outstanding contributions Maanshan Steel having made to national and local economic development, thus to seek the deep law behind the enterprise reform and practical significance.
