In the past two decades of global market development changes,policy makers often regard standardization as a national strategy,mastering the standard discourse to win the dominant position in the market has an important impact.The implementation of China’s standardization strategy relative to the United Kingdom,the United States,Japan and Germany and other developed countries started late,the standardization system needs to be improved,the lag in the development of standardization so that China in the international market competition is often constrained by the standard barriers.At the same time,with the development of technology and business model changes in various domestic industries in recent years,new things are rapidly emerging and participating in the market competition,so the market demand for new standards has increased.Association standards are the form of standards that were formally established after the promulgation of the new Standardization Law of the People’s Republic of China in 2018,and the main role of association standards is to quickly and accurately meet innovation and market demand for new standards in an evolving market environment.In the "the Outline of National Program for Quality" released by the state in February 2023,it is clearly stated that new advantages in economic development centered on technology,standards,brands,quality,and services should be cultivated.As a market-led voluntary standard,association standard is an important branch of the new standard system under the coordinated development of "government-led + market-oriented" in China.Association standardization standardization is an important tool to achieve the development goals of the National Standardization Program,which is conducive to the comprehensive formation of market-driven,government-led,enterprise-based,socially engaged,open and integrated standardization work pattern.Therefore,in the context of enterprise oriented association standardization work,this study hopes to explore the path to complete the development of association standards with high efficiency and quality,as well as the factors that affect the rapid market acceptance of new association standards,so as to provide theoretical references for the construction of association standardization in China.By reviewing the important nodes of Chinese standardization system reform and comparing the existing domestic and foreign standardization-related studies,it is found that Chinese standardization system is different from that of the United States and other major standard countries,so the conclusions of studies based on foreign highly market-oriented standard systems may not be fully applicable to Chinese standardization practice;meanwhile,the conclusions of studies based on Chinese original government-led standard system may not be fully applicable to the market-led association standardization.In addition,the current research on association standardization is scattered,and there is a lack of research on the process of association standardization at the micro level,and there is little empirical research on the factors influencing the development and implementation of association standards.This study focuses on the following questions to investigate the innovation and diffusion stages of association standards:(1)how to understand the development process of new association standards from the perspective of temporary teams at the micro level;(2)what factors affect the development speed and the final quality of new association standards;(3)what are the characteristics of temporary team members that affect the development process of new association standards;(4)what are the characteristics of temporary team members that affect the development process of new association standards and whether there are key mediating factors and moderating factors in the process of temporary team members’ influence on the development of standards;(5)what factors affect the scope and speed of association standard diffusion in the process of association standard diffusion;(6)what role the government plays in the process of diffusion of market-driven association standards.To address the above-mentioned research questions,this study,on the basis of clear practical and theoretical background,firstly compares the theories involved in the study,including information processing theory,social classification theory,authority effect,dynamic team diversity theory and innovation diffusion theory;applies natural language processing(NLP)technology and uses Python to systematically comb through the literature related to the core concepts.The hot developments of existing related research were summarized and visualized,and the research gaps and shortcomings in the field of association standardization were initially summarized.After that,after clarifying the direction of the research problem,based on the exploratory multiple case study method,we conducted semi-structured interviews with four association standard development teams as the research objects,and at the same time applied web crawler technology to collect the secondary data of the teams;applied the three-level coding technology of rooting theory to structure the case study data;on this basis,we clarified the concepts and core variables of the two stages of association standardization connotations,including team knowledge diversity,team structure diversity,information depth processing,association standard innovation(speed and quality)and job complexity in the association standard innovation stage,and association standard innovation quality,government participation and association standard diffusion(range and speed)in the association standard diffusion stage,as well as the relationship between the core variables in each stage,and propose the two stages of association standard innovation and diffusion respectively The theoretical model of association standard innovation and diffusion stages is proposed.Based on the results of the exploratory multi-case study and the theoretical model,we discuss the association standard innovation process from the perspective of temporary teams based on relevant theories and existing literature,and discuss the relationships among the core variables one by one,and propose a total of 27 hypotheses for the two stages.A total of 525 valid questionnaires were collected from 26 provinces and 19 industries;based on the reliability and validity tests and common method bias tests of the two-stage scale,the sample data were analyzed for the hypotheses using SPSS 26,Mplus 8 and Python.Descriptive statistical analysis,correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted on the data to address the hypotheses;the U-shaped relationship between team knowledge diversity and team structure diversity and association standard innovation was verified in the association standard innovation stage,the mediating role of deep information processing in the U-shaped relationship,and the moderating role of job complexity;the positive relationship between association standard innovation quality and association standard diffusion was verified in the association standard diffusion stage,and the positive relationship between government involvement and association standard diffusion was verified.The positive correlation between association standard innovation quality and association standard diffusion was verified,as well as the positive moderating effect of government participation.Finally,based on the results of hypothesis testing and association standardization practice,the innovation and management insights of this study are presented,and the limitations and future prospects of the study are discussed.The innovation of this study is mainly reflected in the following three aspects: first,the innovation of research perspective,dividing the association standardization process into two stages: association standard innovation and diffusion,analyzing the association standard innovation process from the micro level based on the perspective of temporary teams,and exploring the role of government in the association standard diffusion process based on the theory of innovation diffusion,based on the full integration of association standardization work practice,which provides a new research for the theoretical study of association standardization.Second,the research content is innovative.In the stage of association standard innovation,the U-shaped relationship between team member diversity and association standard innovation is explored from the perspective of temporary teams,and the mediating role of deep processing of information and the regulating role of job complexity are clarified,which fills the research gap of the relationship between team member diversity and association standard innovation and enriches the research on the relationship between temporary teams and innovation.In the diffusion stage of association standards,the influence of the quality of association standards in the innovation stage on the range and speed of standards diffusion is discussed,and the positive role of government participation in the diffusion stage of association standards is clarified,which expands the empirical research on the diffusion of association standards;Third,the research method is innovative,using NLP technology to assist in literature review and visualization of existing studies,so as to grasp more clearly the research hotspots and trends of related concepts;in the acquisition of information related to association standards,web crawler technology is used to obtain information on big data of association standards and secondary data such as news reports required in case studies,which provides a more solid data basis for improving the generalizability of the research model. |
