A Study On Jieyang's Strategy For Foreign Trade Development

The global economy falls into the most severe recession since the World WarⅡand international trade shrinks seriously because of the worldwide financial crisis started in the United States. Under such circumstance, foreign trade of our country drops obviously and regional export-oriented economy and enterprises confront unprecedented difficulty. Facing the impact of financial crisis, global main economies have adopted active fiscal and financial policies to slow down the economic decline effectively. As the diminishing and withdrawal of stimulating policies, many new problems arise, like sovereign debt crisis, aggravation of public finance, crisis of financial asset bubble and protectionism growth, which add uncertainty to the global economic recovery and implicate the post financial crisis times full of great revolution and adjustment. Jieyang, an under-developed city, located in the east of Guangdong Province, has an early start of export-oriented economy. The foreign trade of Jieyang is of great importance in its economic development. It is urgent to formulate a long-term program for Jieyang's foreign trade development to deal with increasingly complicated trade situation and maintain a sustainable and healthy economic development. Proceeding from the actual conditions, this paper reviews the foreign trade development history and main features of Jieyang. This thesis uses the method of SWOT to analyze the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and challenges in the foreign trade of Jieyang city so as to advance the developing strategies based on the macroscopic economic situation.
