In current world, information has been one of the crucial resources for social development. Information plays a more and more important role in social production and human activities. Informationization not only has deep impact on the evolution of social environment, but also continuously changes the way how we study, work and live. The rapid development of information technology brings both opportunities and challenges to all walks of life. Take the tourism industry as an example. The demand for more comfort and freedom make it inevitable for informationization in tourism. The integration of tourism and information technologies provides infinite vigor and vitality to the industry, at the same time; it also sets new requirements to the personnel in the tourism industry. We must face the problems of study, employment, and development in information society. To meet the challenge of talent-dependence in information time, middle-level vocation education should explore the new subjects, increase information capacity and improve employability to provide skills for all walks of life.In this thesis, we try to discuss the relevance between the employ ability and information capacity for students with tourism major in middle-level vocational schools. The methods deployed are literature research, Questionnaire survey, and case study.This thesis reviews the background of informationization and information capacity research in tourism. Through the discussion of vocational education in different countries, we draw the conclusion that vocational education should follow the trends in the demand for talent due to fast development. This should be viewed as a basic point in vocational education reform and talent training. The study of information literacy standards makes it clear that information literacy training is very important to vocational students. This is also the basis for the making of questionnaire form used in the thesis. Though the investigation current degree of attention and demand of information literacy training of our interns, we try to discuss the relevance between the employ ability and information literacy training for students majoring in tourism. Survey results show the requirements of companies to our students, namely: students should have the ability and awareness to notice, understand and utilize tourism information. This conclusion is undoubtedly a reference value for the improvement of school teaching. The survey reveals the current information literacy training status:the weak sense of information; obviously biased attention for information; have basic information skills, but less ability to learn new information technologies. Two survey data show the relevance of employability and information literacy for tourism major students in middle-level vocational schools.Through the exploration of current teaching status, integrated with reference research and comparation, we try to find a better way and method to improve student's information literacy in our daily education. During information education, we do not give students fish; we try to teach them how to fish. We should train students problem-solving skills in practical work, help them have a "self learning" capabilities, and form "lifelong learning" concept, to help our students survive now and success in the future.
