Nowadays, the problem of global warming has become increasingly serious. In response to the deteriorating environment, governments are trying to find a way to solve this problem. In 2003, the British put forward the first low-carbon economic development model. This development model has gradually been the focus of all countries because of its consistent with the requirement of sustainable development. Low-carbon economy has become the inevitable trend of economic development of all countries. Now, with the continuous development of Chinese economy, the carbon dioxide emissions of China has increased year by year, China has stepped into the big carbon emissions nations. Therefore, the development of low-carbon economy has become an inevitable choice for China. But as a developing country, China has to face a lot of predicaments on the road to low-carbon economy. How to break through these predicaments during the economic development has a long-term affected to China's economy. Therefore, to analyze these predicaments and propose solutions against these predicaments can better promote China's sustainable economic development. There are four chapters in this paper. Chapter 1 is an introduction, as the beginning of the full text, it describes the background, the theoretical and practical significance of this topic. It then introduces the theory related to low-carbon economy and the present research on the low-carbon economy by Chinese scholars. These theories form the theoretical basis of the full text. In the end of this chapter, it points out the innovation and the deficiencies of this paper. In the chapter 2, the author introduces the status quo of the development of low-carbon economy in China. First, the author analyzes the relationship between the economic growth and energy consumption, then introduces the carbon emissions of China in recent years and uses the decoupling indicators to measure the feature of China's economic transformation to low-carbon economy. The decoupling indicator of China is very unstable, and there has never been strong decoupling. It proves that the low-carbon economy in China has just started. Finally, the author introduces China's efforts to reduce carbon emissions so far. Chapter 3 mainly analyzes the difficulties that China faces during the development of low-carbon economy. As a developing country, the industry remains the centre of the national economy. The unreasonable industrial structure is a major obstacle that China faces when develops low-carbon economy. In addition, China's coal-based energy consumption structure has led to the increase of carbon emissions year by year. Besides, lack of low-carbon technologies,"locking effect", and the trade structure also affect China's low-carbon footsteps. On the foundation of the analysis of predicaments, the author tries to find out the reasons for all these predicaments, and finally shows that the most fundamental reason is because China's current economic development level is still very backward. After analyzing the obstacles in the previous chapter, in chapter 4, some targeted solutions are put forward, including speeding up the adjustment of industrial structure, exploiting new energy sources to adjust the current energy structure, improving energy efficiency, increasing R & D investment, and at the same time, focusing on the role of forest carbon sinks, and finally promoting low-carbon economy from the side of the little things. We can obtain the following conclusions through the above-mentioned study:(1)The growth of China's economy is often accompanied by a lot of carbon dioxide emissions. Through the study of decoupling indicator of China in the past few years, China's carbon dioxide emissions has not yet showed a downward trend with the economy growth. In the same time, the developed countries appeared at least once strong decoupling in the past few decades. Low-carbon economy in China faces enormous pressure.(2)The growth rate of carbon dioxide which hides in the export trade has positive correlation with the growth rate of the export. And its absolute value has the same changing trend with the total carbon dioxide emissions in China. Since trade surplus appears in China almost every year. The export trade in China increased the carbon dioxide emissions, China has undertaken the appropriate responsibility for the carbon emissions for the foreign country.(3)All these obstacles that China faces when develops low-carbon economy is ultimately related with the development status. China's industrialization and urbanization has not been completed, in order to improve people's living standards, there will be a lot of infrastructure construction. On the existing level of technology, China inevitably emits large amounts of greenhouse gases.
