For better use of the data collected over the past decade, large enterprise groups have introduced the Business Intelligence (BI) into their information applications. The OLAP technology is advanced and practical, but the present BI front-end tools have many disadvantages that constrain the utilization of the data collected. In order to provide the large enterprise groups with suitable BI front-end display tools, the scale, concept, development and applications of the technology are studied. The focus is given to the content and development of disassembly trees. Based on the investigation into the advantages and disadvantages of disassembly trees, a new technique for OLAP visualization is proposed: the multi-direction enhanced disassembly tree that can be used for drill-down of OLAP data from two aspects. The multi-direction drill-down enhances the ability of pattern recognition via multi-direction observation and comparison of data.In order to develop a prototype system, this paper clarifies the concept of OLAP virtualization. Then the general design of the Data Analysis Visualization System is provided. OLAP technology and other relevant technologies such as Statistics Chart, MDX and ADOMD are studied in detail.A prototype system based on the multi-direction enhanced disassembly tree has been developed. A test environment is established to verify the prototype system. The functions of the prototype system with great system scalability and practical application significance are tested and the results of the test are analyzed. The findings of the analysis show that the prototype architecture has obvious superiority in protecting the enterprise groups'investment of existing projects of applications integration.
