Research on Land Use and Land Cover change (LUCC) is the frontier and a hot issue in the Global Change research, and research on Regional Land Use change is one of the most important parts. Taking Modern Yellow River Delta as the study area, First study on remote sensing technology in LUCC research status in an overview, Then analyzed in the study area's natural and socio-economic profile and Descripted the analysis of remote sensing technology in recent years, often used for land use study of dynamic change detection method. To the basis of August 1992 and February 2000, in May of remote sensing data, after each use of the classification comparison in which category to use maximum likelihood classification and integration of information extraction methods which using HIS method and PCA method were used to test data processing in the ENVI software support, obtained in the study area in land use changes in static and dynamic data. Using these data, calculation of the total land use change, dynamic degrees, use and utilization index, Obtained in the study area between 1992 and 2000 the regional spatial and temporal characteristics of land use change. The results show that:1992 to 2000, the Yellow River Delta showed bare land use, urban land, beaches, culture water, reservoir water and rural construction land area of growth, reduced to saline, vegetation and river area throughout the study period. The fastest growth rate of the growth of urban construction land and the most dramatic change is the bare area.Total land area of the Yellow River Delta is in a state of increasing, in which growth area of 52.99 km2 and average annual growth rate was 0.107%. The changes in the Yellow River is in an unstable state in research period, and the overall trend is decreasing. The area between the changes taking place around the class, land utilization overall declining trend throughout the period of research time by calculation of land use changes in the value index and the average available. Land utilization and reduce the volatility of the data illustrate the situation that this area is undergoing a land-use adjustment and the extent of land use needs to be improved. Post-classification comparison method with the integration of monitoring data obtained by changing the direction of change is basically the same in two of the classifications. But the specific datas revealed a larger error. Can be seen that the maximum likelihood method in monitoring changes in the value of the existence of the phenomenon of exaggerated change.
