With the rapid development of society and economy, China’s manufacturing industry is increasingly fierce competition, many companies want to make changes in order to seek a breakthrough in the development of enterprises. In order to gain an advantage in the competition, seeking to maximize business benefits, only the effective cost control as the primary means to enhance market competitiveness and profitability.One important part of enterprise management when cost management is able to reflect the size of the enterprise market competitiveness, to measure the level of internal management, is to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises, an effective way to improve the economic efficiency of enterprises. Due to cost factors involved in many aspects of manufacturing, cost management approach also many types, how to conduct a comprehensive and effective product development cost management is a major challenge facing enterprises. Cost management has become an enterprise can do bigger and stronger even survive the decisive factor. The company has a long history of state-owned enterprises, project cost management remains stuck in the extensive, hands-on management level, seriously restricting the realization of our project cost management objectives.In this paper, a company in Shanghai XH630machine R&D projects as the research object, through cost management to analyze the current situation, the use of sophisticated theoretical knowledge, such as the work breakdown structure techniques and earned value method combined with the latest research results at home and abroad for research and development projects cost management of exploration and research, in order to achieve the objectives of project management to minimize costs and maximize function. I hope to share some experiences and lessons from the practical level, for a similar enterprise product development cost management provide useful lessons.
