With the development of science and technology, people constantly improve the needof material culture, but for the vast country, the grain issue is still in the first place. Weshould use7%of the world’s land to feed one fifth of the world’s population, for us it is abig test to the construction of national economy as well as an issue has to resolve. So weshould not only proceed to the cultivation, but also save up from the grain delivery andprocessing. During the processing of wheat and rice, edible resources have wasted as muchas15million tons a year. Therefore, the reliable and efficient grain processing machinery isessential to improve the grain resources utilization.Rice mill is one of the important equipment of rice processing, and the whiteningchamber is the core working parts of rice mill. In the whitening chamber, the brown rice arewhitening through the mechanical force, and it should be easy occur broken rice withpressure in the whitening process. So if you want to control the generation of the brokenrice,we should know something about the particles’ trajectory and bearing condition whichare in the whitening chamber. And on this basis, we should optimize the structureparameters of the whitening chamber so as to reduce the rice broken rate. But the premisesof the structure optimization need to integrate the reasonable data with practical experience.At present, the existence of the problem is that there is no accurate theoretical approach forthe pressure analysis in the whitening chamber; when analyzing the particles’ trajectory, weoften adapts single particle’s movement, making them instead from materials groups. Thisway ignores the interaction between the particles, so it can’t reflect the truth of the materialsgroup’s movement. The design of the rice mill which makes use of experience andanalogical method has not a more solid foundation to support it, especially for the structureparameters of the whitening iron roller.Given that, the main content of this research includes: First, it built the solid model ofthe whitening chamber according to the existing equipment, and made simulation bydiscrete element method, then analysis the materials group’s pressure and distribution;Second, this method analysis the materials group’s movement which breaks through thetraditional paten, so it can arrive at the movement track equation which is more closed to reality; According to the pressure and distribution as well as trajectory which are arrived bysimulation, we can analysis and calculate the white rice yield; Finally, we should optimizethe structure parameters of the whitening iron roller according to the results which affect thewhite rice yield by whitening pressure and trajectory.Get rid of traditional analog and experience methods, this paper use the moderndesigning method and measures. That is, discrete element method is used to simulate thework process in the whitening chamber, also it should provide theoretical basis foroptimizing the structure parameters of the whitening iron roller.
