| Metal stamping parts have been applied by more and more cases in products and ourdaily lives, such as car body, containers, heat sinks, instruments, kitchen wares anddecoration materials and so on are all around us, metal stamping parts production and usecases in life. Applications of stamping parts are not only widely distributed, but also havebeen used in high-volume. As the labor costs rise gradually, more and more plants began tomake the production process fully automatic. As a result, this production mode improvedthe quality of the products and led the companies more competitive in the market. However,things did not last that long, the market’s demand for stamping parts change by time and oldproducts’ profits are less and less with more and more competitiveness. Therefore, thedevelopment of new products for replacement is the only way to survive. Then, stampingcompanies are faced with severe problems, whenever we need a new product productionequipment, we have to spend months or even years to develop. What’s worse, thedeveloped equipment usually cannot meet the actual production due to lack of experience,which leads companies lost opportunity to dominate the market. So we need to develop astamping platform which can quickly develop a device to meet this market demand.This paper developed a common platform to solve the deficiencies of the existingequipment. We initiated from the customers’ requirements, built a black box model for themetal stamping platform, and then made a comprehensive analysis of its features from theprocess, equipment and the software functions within to plan to achieve transparency of theblack box model. A selected pool was established for the key metal stamping equipments tospeed up the process of the development. The paper also proposed a modular programmingmethod. We encoded the equipments in the pool and programmed each equipment aprogram for the control system to choose. They are used as subroutines and called for usewhen needed by the main program. After writing the main frame of the main program, wecan adjust the program by calling subroutines due to the selected equipment,which is alsothe selected equipment of the hardware, through the human-computer interaction systemto realize the program of preparation quickly. This method to build the hardware andsoftware systems is very convenient and it is open for design platform, which means it canbe optimized based on the accumulation of actual project experience. Thus, facing the changing market rules, it can be done with the time and guarantee the success of stampingenterprises.The paper also describes some of the key technologies used when developing thecommon platform, which are also important for the accumulation of metal stampingplatform and project experience. Finally, the paper used the development process of sealsproduction device as an example to show the application of the common platform concept. |
