With the development of information technology and network technology,manufacturing is in the process of global collaboration. However, due to the lack of unified planning, information island is very serious both in and outside of the enterprises. At the same time, because of the differences in the norm of information management and the protection of information between enterprises, reusable information becomes very low between enterprises. Modular fixture, as a high flexible craft equipment, whose assembled data storage is big. Based on the above characteristics, a research approach for the modular-fixture cloud-service-platform was presented.. The approach combined cloud computing and GWT technology, making full use of the characteristics of cloud computing,which include device and location independence, resource pooling, high scalability and virtualization etc., to solve the data-stored problems of the modular-fixture configuration-system.The modular-fixture service system, which was based on the GAE cloud-platform,was researched and designed. So on the one hand, the fixture resources could be downloaded on demand or uploaded willingly;on the other hand, cooperation between the users could be promoted by the system’s functions to issue and solve demands. Therefore, the allopatry of the information was overcame, the cost of the infrastructure was reduced, the development cycle of the system was shorten and the security of the data was effectively protected, by using the existing cloud platform.the reference about other systems based on GAE cloud-platform was provided.The main research of the work is as follows:1. Based on the features and functions of the existing cloud platforms, GAE was selected as an application platform concerning the project situation.2. The underlying technology of GAE and GWT were introduced in detail. The modular-fixture service system was described, including goal analysis, functional modules design, business process and data persistence designs. And the solutions to apply GWT technology and realize data persistence in the GAE/J environment were stated.3. The modular fixture repository was completed, including the use of Pro/E to buildmodular fixture 3D model.4. Combined with GAE environment, the modular- fixture service system was realized in part including interface interaction, indexing,a part of uploading and downloading.
