Application Research Of The Modular Theory On Structure’s Usability Design Of Home Nursing Bed

The platform of this research is home nursing bed. It starts from the users, tryingto improve the structures and functions of nowadays home nursing bed directed by themodular design theory. In this way, we try to improve the home nursing bed’s usability,users’use experience and change the manufacturing patterns of the related enterprises.Firstly, this research need to get the real marketing information of the homenursing bed, as well as the users’ conditions and the information of structures,functions and patterns of the home nursing bed. Then we should focus on the user’sresearch and analysis. Based on this work, we can get the user’s action model andmental model. From them, we will learn the design points and the user’s potentialdemand. The third step should base on the modular theory. Use the analytic hierarchyprocess to get the emphasis. Then calculate the relations between two models. At last,re-group them based on the results. After user’s research and models division andre-grouping, we can present a conceptual design model directed by the home nursingbed design definition.By a series of work, the final conceptual design has some innovation andprogress in the structure and function aspects.1) Focus on the user, and abandon the old design which comes directly from themedical nursing bed. Fully consider the user’s potential demand and providethem great convenience when use and maintain home nursing bed.2) By adapting the modular design theory, improve the usability of the nursing bedgreatly. Models with different functions and patterns can link each other throughthe same interface. This allows the users to choose models based on their ownconditions and needs.3) After united the interface, the future design can have more pacific user researchbased on the specific marketing situation. Then more models can be designed.This will enrich the functions and patterns of home nursing bed, and reduce thedifficulty of manufacturing and maintaining of the related enterprises.
