Haiwaihe and Xiaowa oilfield, which belong to Jinma oilfield development company, have been developed over20years and have entered the middle and later periods of oilfielddevelopment. The degree of reserve recovery of main block is as high as89.1%,there isnearly no potential in the current development stage with the old development method, so thesituation of keeping stable production is severe. In order to dig the reservoir potential which isin “double-high” development stage, the company gradually turns its focus on undevelopedareas among the wells and undeveloped layers, and the reservoir margins and the low oilsaturation reservoir et al. The purpose is to increase the degree of reservoir recovery rate. With the development of fine reservoir description and horizontal well competitiontechnology, combining with the reservoir character, it is clear to take the single sand body as aunit and the horizontal well as a tool, and use separate-layer development technology toimprove the single well production and increase the degree of reservoir recovery. A series oftechnologies which are suitable for the horizontal well is formed through fine reservoirdescription, seismic reservoir inversion and elaborate3D geological modeling, horizontal welloptimization design and well competition parameter optimization to improve the drilling rateof oil layer et al.81horizontal Wells are put into production in5blocks. The average daily production ofhorizontal Wells is12.2t/d in early period and current cumulative oil production has reachedto70.0×104t. The degree of reservoir recovery of main oil fields is increased by5.2%and theproduction remains steady in recent years.Separate-layer development technology using horizontal well can effectively resolvethese problems, such as high water cut of the bottom water reservoir, scattered remaining oil ofthin interbed reservoir, multilayer interference of low saturation reservoir, low production inthe thin oillayer and edge areas, sand production and so on. This provides great reference tomodify development effort of old oilfields which are in the middle and later periods.
