Research On The Ecological Civilization Construction In The Process Of Balancing Urban And Rural Development

As the important goal of urban and rural development, ecological civilization constructionis not only a huge impetus of building a moderately prosperous and socialist harmonious society,but also the aim of scientific development which is related to the nation’s survival anddevelopment plans. However, at present, China is facing many grim situations such as tightresource constraints, environmental pollution and ecosystem degradation etc. These problemsare restricting China’s economic and social development. Therefore, ecological civilizationconstruction is of great significance and is an urgent task. The author did this research from theperspective of ecological civilization construction of urban and rural development which hasdiscussed the importance of ecological civilization construction and analyzed the theory ofurban and rural development and ecological civilization construction with literature research,case studies, induction, and survey research methodology. Taking Chengdu for instance, theauthor combed the course of ecological civilization construction in Chengdu during the processof balancing urban and rural development, and summed up the measures, achievements andproblems of Chengdu’ s ecological civilization construction. Based on this analysis, the authorconsidered deeply about it and hoped to provide some reference for carrying forward theecological civilization construction.This dissertation is consisted of five parts. The first part is introduction. The authordiscussed the background, significance and method of this research. In the second part, theauthor elaborated some concepts and theories in the research of ecological civilizationconstruction in the process of balancing urban and rural development. For example, the authordefined the connotation of balancing urban and rural development and ecological civilizationconstruction, and combed theoretical foundation of ecological civilization construction andsummarized its nature, characteristic and construction system. In part three, taking ecologicalcivilization construction of Chengdu for instance, the author summarized its course of history,major measurement and performance. In part four, the problems of ecological civilizationconstruction of Chengdu are analyzed. For instance, the management system and systemconstruction need to be improved; people’s environmental consciousness is weak; economicdevelopment and bearing capacity of resource and environment are not coordinate with eachother; infrastructure construction is feeble and under-investment. Part five is the thought aboutreinforcing the ecological civilization construction of China. The author provided somesuggestions of enhancing ecological system construction, ecological environment construction,ecological industry construction and ecological culture development.
