Existent rivers have larger effects on normal mining of surface mine, the influence degree is associated with the location of the river. Yingjin river is crossing Yuanbaoshan surface mine. With the development of the mining engineering, surface mine stope working slope was already close to the river, in order to guarantee the sustained and stable development of surface mine, the river must be diverted. Implementing the project on the internal dump has strict requirements on time and space relations of the mining engineering development, and also has a great influence for mining engineering. In order to achieve the change of river engineering on the internal dump, optimization and research is necessary on mining engineering continue solutions before and after the change the river channel of Yuanbaoshan surface mine.Based on the established model including deposit geology, mining field, dump current situation model, analyzing the restricting relationship among time, space and engineering quantity, establishing model on the broken set layout, distribution station layout and optimization for removing and arranging. Mining simulation technology was used to optimize the stripping, mining and discharging program, determined the annual engineering position and engineering quantities to meet the change of the river on the internal dumping, and proposed to achieve the change of the river on the internal dumping and put forward optimum proposal to ensure reliable continuation of mining engineering with double pit mining.
