The Study Of The Effects Of The Social Capital On The Environmental Protection Level

Environmental issues become more and more public attention by social media, academiaand government. Social capital is the foundation of ecological environment protection, whichcan break the "prisoner’s dilemma" of the ecological environmental protection. It plays animportant role in prompting the environmental protection and natural resources integratedmanagement and so on. As a key variable of the environmental protection and management, itbecome a widespread attention. In order to analyze the impact of social capital forenvironmental pollution in our country, the article is based on the31provinces, municipalitiesand autonomous regions in China as the research area, evaluate the level of the social capitaland regional environmental pollution index and their diversities and prove their spatial patterndistributions. Finally, the study analyzes the social capital influence on the regionalenvironmental pollution, and puts forward policy implications on how to improve the stock ofsocial capital.The results as follows: Social capital and the pollution of the environmentcomprehensive score have been presented difference in China since1997-2011. It can bedivided into two stages:1997-2004and2004-2011. Judging from social capital compositeindex of31provinces in China from1997to2011, it can be seen that the overall level ofregional social capital change little, and decrease slightly during this period. The level ofsocial capital shows obviously spatial difference. The overall pattern of regional social capitalis that the East is higher than the Middle and the Middle East is superior to the West; Onthe whole, environmental pollution index in1997-2011is at the same level, but also presentsobviously fluctuations. Environmental pollution level average index maintains about0.05to0.07in our country, which has significant differences among the East and the Middle and theWest. In terms of regional environmental pollution index shows the characteristics ofHigh-East low-West; Through TOPSIS method, we can find that the CV of environmentalpollution level in different provinces in China since1997-2011has changed greatly. In viewof time-space analysis of the change trend of the environmental pollution from1997to2011,we can see that the deterioration rate of the environment reduced, however, the environmentstill worsened. On the whole, from1997onwards, the environment was worsening in China,but it was improved in some areas. The trend of China’s environmental pollution barycenternorth is from west-north direction, namely that the deterioration of environment shows a downward trend. Environmental quality is gradually getting better. The reasons are the goodnatural environment, as well as the developed regional economy、technology and policysupport. From the perspective of specific factors,the trust in the Middle and the East havesignificant positive correlation of regional environmental protection level, but the trust in theWest has non-significant obvious. The network and standard regional has significant positivecorrelation of regional environmental protection level.While foreign direct investment、environmental regulation、economic development level、industrial output value proportion andthe population density are also quite important factors that affect regional environmentalprotection level.
