In real life, many systems can be abstracted into network model, the researchers can understand the structure and function of real system through the research and analysis of the network model. This paper studies and explores the application of complex network and ant colony algorithm in the agricultural field from two aspects: the visualization of agricultural science and technology documents, the research and analysis of rural information communication mode. The main contents are as follows:The citespace software was used to establish the soil fertility knowledge map and maize diseases knowledge map and carry out visual data mining and analysis based on community structure as well as visualization technology. Based on the analysis of statistical references published in 2000 ~ 2014, was acquired the overall researching trend in the field of soil fertility; According to the distribution pattern of the mechanism and the distribution map of the author, the contribution and cooperative relations of research institutions and scientific research workers in field of soil fertility and maize diseases are analyzed; According to the knowledge map, the research focus and development trend in the field of soil fertility and maize diseases were defined. Visualization of mining and analysis of soil fertility and maize diseases mapping knowledge are helpful for agricultural researchers to have a more comprehensive, objective, accurate perception in this field and the follow-up study of soil fertility and maize diseases will provide more detailed guidance.Using sophisticated network technology complexities of rural information dissemination were the more through research and analysis. Through the establishment of complex networks degree distribution, average path length, clustering coefficient characteristics, confirmed the rural information dissemination network scale-free network characteristics and properties of small-world networks; Information on rural communication networks respectively, from the point of centrality, between centrality and intensity of the relationship between the three aspects of information dissemination speed, scope, interpretation and application of a comprehensive analysis of the situation; By the principle of ant colony algorithm and complex network in rural information network dissemination of information abstracted multiple propagation paths. Research indicates: Application of complex network and ant colony algorithm can effectively improve the speed and quality of rural information dissemination.This paper studies and explores the application of complex network and ant colony algorithm in the agricultural field from two aspects. the visualization of agricultural science and technology documents, the research and analysis of rural information communication mode. Finally according to these two aspects of research, design and implement the information consulting system of maize production. The system can effectively spread the information of maize production, realizing agricultural expert’s technical guidance to farmers and the free exchange between farmers and farmers in space.
