With the social progress of science and technology and under the growing demands for visual and intelligent experience, digital city and digital campus emerged. Three-dimensional digital campus is on the way of hot campus construction. The research aimed to develop a GIS digital school system on the built campus scene by combine developing tools. So that it not only bring people the sensory experiences of the real world, but also meet the need in all fields on GIS spatial analysis, data management, and other needs.This paper aims to make research of digital campus visualization combined with the geographic information system theory based on constructing the threedimensional landscape models. So it concludes building three-dimensional visualization system for the overall structure, function design and construction of the database. In this paper, there are deeper views not only about the threedimensional spatial data and virtual visualization theory, but also about the method of constructing three-dimensional landscape models. In the end based on the ArcEngine embedded components and using C # development language, the paper initially completes construction of three-dimensional digital campus system, detailed contents as following:First, by categorizing existed objects on campus scene based on their different characteristics, select the appropriate modeling approach and choose the modeling software used in conjunction with the theory. Then put forward a set of methods to adapt to the campus scene modeling through experiments to verify this efficiency and automation of the modeling process. Reducing the workload of human editors to improve the modeling efficiencySecond, this experiment, chooses China University of Geosciences(Beijing) as the research object, realizing the combination of model data, image data, attribute data to complete the three-dimensional structures on campus scene. Select GeoDatabase managing spatial and attribute data. This kind of data management achieves the integration of spatial data and attribute data, well data preparation foundation for the development of system functions.Third, based on the needs analysis of three-dimensional digital campus. the overall structure of system is designed from top to bottom, from inside to outside, divided into bottom, the core layer and the top layer. To improve visualization systems weakness in GIS functionality aspects, the system combines ArcEngine development-assembly and C # development language to achieve the development of the system functions. The system has visualization roaming, spatial query, spatial analysis and other functions and so on.In this paper, it is using the campus visualization scene structures that develops and achieves a three-dimensional virtual system having browse, query, space analysis and other functions. It is good way to show vivid campus environment, bringing immersive feelings to the users. Furthermore it can assist and guide planning and construction of the campus in future.
