The Research And Realization Of 3D Digital Campus On Cloud Platform

Currently,the trend of the global digital and network development is increasingly clear.As the forefront institutions of scientific research,universities are attaching importance to its digitization process.Many universities pay more attention to 3D digital campus becase the 3D digital campus is an important way for people to know the universities.3D digital campus will be displayed to the world through the network perfectly by using Cloud Computing Technology.This paper focuses on how to build 3D digital campus based on cloud platform.3D model of the campus will be builded by City Engine which is very popular in the modeling field and it will be deployed on Arc GIS Online.The technologic advances and theories of cloud computing and 3D modeling are described in the front of this paper.By comparing the popoular cloud platforms and the most used 3D modeling software,City Engine and Arc GIS Online are selected to build 3D digital campus.In the experimental part of the thesis,firstly,it provides an overview of the subjects which is the Nan'an campus of Chongqing Jiaotong University and analyses the methods of the collection and processing of data;secondly,it tells the detiails of modeling the green vegetation,roads and houses and the way to get the CGA rule templates;then,this part also teaches how to quickly generate a three-dimensional model of the campus by the CGA rule templates;finally,the experimental part describes how to use the Arc GIS Online cloud platform to realize three-dimensional platform digital campus.two-dimensional GIS data with complete attribute information of green vegetation,roads and houses are obtained in the experiment.the DEM of the Nan'an campus of Chongqing Jiaotong University has high precision.the models of green vegetation and roads have great exterior,but the model of houses are lacking of the fine detail and aesthetic level.At last,the three-dimensional model of the campus is relatively satisfactory.through Arc GIS Online cloud successfully completed the three-dimensional model of the campus and the deployment of the basic functions of digital.The thesis of The Research and Realization of 3D Digital Campus on Cloud Platform has a good reference value for the future construction of digital Universities.City Engine software using in this thesis is a template-based CGA rules fast and efficient modeling software which has a huge advantage in large-scale mass modeling.Its advantages will make it very popular in the field of modeling in the future.
