As the rapidly development of the society and economy, rational planning and optimization of land utilization has increasingly become a hot research topic in the field of landscape ecology. Based on ecological theory, using the remote sensing image interpretation’s data and land utilization data, charted by means of RS, GIS, GPS. The characters of landscape pattern change from 1995 to 2002 in the study area are studied by FRAGSTATS calculation method, and the driving factors of regional landscape pattern change were analyzed by statistical method. The research of city landscape pattern has important meaning to the reasonable proceeding of land-use plan and management, and provide scientific basis for urban planning and integration of urban and rural development.This paper studies the dynamic change and driving factors of urban scale landscape pattern of Yang Ling, by using RS software ENVI5.1, spatial data analysis platform ArcGis9.3, and Fragstates3.3, based on the remote sensing images as the source of information, with Landscape ecology. Optimal strategies were proposed for the landscape pattern of Yangling. The results showed:(1) At class level, urban construction land and the green space landscape land increased rapidly, from 486.36 hm2 to 1901.7 hm2, from 18.81 hm2 to 247.1625 hm2, respectively. While agricultural land, woodland, rural construction land, and nature waters decreased, and the reduction of agricultural land and woodland is the top two, from 6133.59 hm2 to 4664.8 35 hm2, from 367.11 hm2 to 187.4475 hm2, respectively.(2) From the transfer matrix of landscape types, agricultural land transferred out the most and it was mainly occupied by urban construction land and the green space landscape land.(3)The patch density and the largest patch index of the green space landscape land have marked changes. Agricultural land has the largest patch density, and has maintained an increasing trend; the largest patch index decreased and the landscape shape index has been increased. The patch density and the landscape shape index of the urban construction land maintain a trend of increase; the largest patch index of rural construction land remains in second place and the landscape shape index has been the largest.(4) At landscape level, the Shannon’s diversity index and Shannon’s evenness index has increased slowly, and the area of the contrast between difference is on the decrease; evenness Increased, and landscape heterogeneity increased; contagion index always lower than the initial. The landscape heterogeneity increased, and the fragmentation of Yangling deepened.(5) The formation and variation of landscape pattern were the composite reflect of the multi factor interaction of nature and man-made. The driving force analysis of Yangling landscape pattern showed that the root causes of the evolution of landscape pattern were urbanization, rapid economic development, adjustment of industrial structure, as well as the demographic shifts,(6) Aiming at the problem of the unreasonable phenomenon in the landscape pattern of Yangling district, this paper puts forward the countermeasures optimizing the landscape, such as the urban landscape distribution should be improved and the continuity of the landscape ecological processing and pattern should be maintained form the desirable point of view.
