The Research On Changing Of Sichuan Snub-nosed Monkey (Rhinopithecus Roxellanae) Habitat Suitability In Shennongjia Forest Region,Hubei

With landsat images of 1987,2000, and 2013 in Shennongjia Forest Region with groundtruthing data, this paper interprets land cover types by using Erdas Software, compares the value of raster, and analyzes the area and sources of changes in forest cover. By using infrared camera and Maxent model to predict the suitable habitat distribution of Sichuan snub-nosed monkey in 2000 and 2013 as well as doing field patrol to locate Sichuan snub-nosed monkey(Rhinopithecus roxellanae), thispaper, in terms of GAP analysis, analyses the four environmental factors (29 factors in total), which are surface coveragefactor, climate factor, topographical factor and human factor. As a result, the research results could provide a scientific basis for habitat protection of Sichuan snub-nosed monkey.1.The surface coverage types in Shennongjia in 1987,2000,2000 are obtained by remote sensing image interpretation. The results indicate that forest increased slowly during 1987 and 2000, in which shrub (49.35%) and grassland (40.68%) contributed the most to the forest increasing area. However, forest increased rapidly during 2000 and 2013, in which shrub, grassland (80.38%)and farmland contributed the most.2.Maxent model results in 2000 showed that suitable habitats in Shennongjia forest region were mainly distributed in the Midwest of Shennongjia forest region and the Mideast of Shennongjia nature reserve.Suitable habitat sites were mainly destributed in the boundary of HongpingTown, Muyu Town and Xiagu Township. The most suitable habitats werelocated in HongpingTown and Muyu Town with Guanyindong, Qianjiaping, Guanmenshan, Dalongtan,Xiaolongtan, the top of Shennong Mt as key areas.Furthermore, Maxent model results in 2013 showed that suitable habitatswere mainly in central Shennongjia forest region, and the Middle East of Shennongjia nature reserve. Suitable habitat sites were mainly in Hongping Town, Muyu Town, Xiagu Township, and Songluo Township.The most suitable habitat sites are in Hongping Town, Muyu Town with Guanyindong, Qianjiaping, Guanmensha as key areas.3.GAP analysis results showed thatthe suitable habitat area of shennongjia forest region in 2013 is 504.25 km2. The suitable habitat area in shennongjia nature reserve is 237.71 km2. Areas of 266.54 km2 suitable habitat are out of protection. Unprotect areasare mainly distributed in the following five areas: (1) Unprotect area of Dajiuhu township:the border area between Dajiuhu township and Shennongjia nature reserve (2) Unprotect area of Muyu Town:the junction area between southern Muyu Town andShennongjia nature reserve. (3) Unprotect area of Hongping town -- Muyu Town --Songluo Township:border between HongpingTown, Muyu Town and Songluo Township. (4) Unprotect area of Hongping town:central and northwest HongpingTown near the rhino hole. (5) Unprotect area of Songluo Township:the border area between southern Songluo and Shennongjia nature reserve as well as central Songluo and western Laojunshan.
