Applying the 3D-visualization technology toward land consolidation is one of the future development direction of land consolidation. In this paper, the study is relying on Xinyu land consolidation project and constructing the current and planning 3D terrain model of project area. Then putting the ditches, canals, bridges in the 3D terrain model to achieve the final 3D model of project area and acquire the following results:1. Constructing the current and planning 3D model by Arc GIS, Auto CAD and 3ds MaxConstructing the current 3D model of project area according to the collection data of ditches, roads, dams, water pond, rivers and discrete entities dimensional models. constructing the planning 3D model of project area basing on the current 3D model.2. Provide complete method to carry out land consolidation basing on the current 3D model of project area.In this study, taking project of Xinyu consolidation for example, constructing the current 3D model of project area, exploring the role of 3D model in land consolidation basing on the current 3D model. Establishing a more perfect land consolidation method basing on 3d model at last.3. Using Arc GIS 3D Analyst tools to generate the cross-section map, slope map of project area to help land consolidation.Using the Arc GIS 3D Analyst tools for cross-section analysis to analyse the terrain elevation and get the corss-section map. The cross-section map could support the elevation design of rural roads and the layout of ditches. Arc GIS slope analysis tool can analyse the slope of the surface 3D model and get the slope map whitch can directly reflect terrain changes of project area in 3D model to help the layout of ditches in project area.
