Nowadays, researchers have carried out a quantity of applications of wireless sensor network, especially in environmental monitoring, medical care, but there is little in-depth research for meteorological observation. In order to publish the accurate and real-time weather data, make users acquire the instant weather information of surrounding environment, this paper introduces the design and implementation of meteorological sensor network WebGIS platform based on multi-sensor data fusion in detail.It combines wireless sensor network withgeographical information system (GIS), using deployed sensor nodes to apperceive the environment, releasing meteorological observation data rapidly.The meteorological wireless sensor network involved in this paper consists of many different types of meteorological sensor nodes. Each node can autonomously collect information, and send them to the sink node via multi-hop routing. Then sink nodes send these data to the middleware over TCP network protocol, while the middleware is responsible for data analysis and storage. Finally the Web client deals with these data and displays them.Therefore, under the support of Jiangsu Science and Technology Project Funding (BE2011195), this paper researches on the key technologies of WebGIS information processing platform facing to meteorological service, gives a comprehensive analysis of existing Sensor Web technology and data fusion technology on the basis of specific business needs, presents a reasonable data fusion algorithm to fuse the traditional meteorological data (AWS data) with collected sensor data, uses selective support vector machine algorithm to predict future weather data innovatively, takes advantage of Autodesk MapGuide as the geographic information systems solution, realizes the research and development of meteorological sensor network WebGIS platform based on multiple data fusion.In addition to implement the basic system functions like meteorological services, Sensor Web, GIS, the most important thing of the WebGIS platform discussed in this paper is to complete the integration of multi-source data, so that the meteorological data is more accurate, and it’s beneficial for users to make decisions. After testing, the system is fault-tolerant, stable and scalable, achieving the goal of this research and design from the overall situation.
