A certain groundwater source in Xinjiang that was built in1987, till2009the actual exploitation was5796m3/d, shrinked to47.35%of its design production (12240m3/d), far from meeting the needs of livingwater and green water in this area. In order to ensure the local basic water needs, the study evaluated thegroundwater source and analyzed its potential, come up with the plan of renewing5wells to increase thewater yield. In this paper, with previous studies, ground water level data that has been measured for about37years,field survey, and other aspects of geological data were combined, the groundwater system is studied, use GIS,PMWIN and other analysis software, researched groundwater recharge and discharge system in this area, come up with the the following results:Ⅰ The numerical model of groundwater in this water source is established with the use of internationalcommon groundwater modeling software Modflow, and with collected data and surface water, groundwaterexploitation and utilization data of hydrogeological investigation, calibrated the model parameters and inputitems.Ⅱ Total recharge of balance area is1704.87×104m3/a, minus the well irrigation supply134.33×104m3/a, the amount of groundwater resources is1570.54×104m3/a, exploitable groundwater volume is926.62×104m3/a. Actual recent3years the balance area exploitation is1343.33×104m3/a, overexploitationratial is0.45; the water source is a serious overdraft area.Ⅲ According to the demand and the water source after renewed water supply capacity, propose threeprediction of groundwater water supply scheme, a maximum day supply of2.1923×104m3,387.04×104m3of total water supply throughout the year, more than the actual exploitation amount increase105×104m3in2009; scheme two daily maximum of2.6308×104m3, annual water supply464.45×104m3,77.41×104m3/aratio increase; scheme three daily maximum of3.0693×104m3/d, the annual water volume of541.86×104m3/a,77.41×104m3increase than scheme two.The study area is seriously over exploitated, aquifer has been drained10-20m, so with the living andgreen water suplyed, it is not commended to expand the exploitation.
