Fujian north-to-south water diversion project is the largest of the inter-basin waterdiversion projects in Fujian so far. The implementation of the project can guarantee thesupply of important water resources for environmental, social and economicallysustainable development in the southeast coastal areas of Fujian. This article used the firstphase of Fujian north-to-south water diversion project as a research subject. Acombination of3S Technology, field survey and quadrat survey were utilized to researchthe terrestrial ecosystem including the sensitive ecological area, flora, vegetation types, key protected wild plants and old trees, vegetation biomass and species diversity. Results showed that vegetation belonged to eight vegetation type groups, ninevegetation types,18formation types in the evaluation of the proposed constructionproject areas. The Form. Pinus massoniana, Form. Acacia confusa, Form. EucalyptusGrandisxE.Urophylla and Form.Phyllostachys heterocycla cv pubescens are the largestvegetational types in the distribution area. This study combining relative growth method and the method of quadrat harvestmeasured the total biomass in the evaluation area is about15.28×106t, the biomass yieldloss of permanent region is6463.05t which is0.042%of the total biomass of evaluationarea, This is evaluation area natural ecosystem can bear the reasonable temporary area. The classification identification showed there are186families,581genera and1153species of wild vascular plants in the evaluation area, Plant species are abundant. Thefloristic composition in evaluation area is complicated. The tropical composition is anadvantage, especially in the pantropical composition is the most abundant, temperatedistribution also occupies certain proportion. The area including the second-grade Stateprotected trees:140Cinnamomum camphora. and4Cibotium barometz; Fujianprovincial key protected plants:19Keteleeria fortune and58trees more than one hundredyears old. With the aid of3S and based on classification method, we performed a remotesensing interpretation of landscape types in the evaluation area, the spatial distribution oflandscape and vegetation types. The results show that forest land area is the largest, accounting for58.52%of the total area. Other land types surveyed were, from largest to smallest:forest land; water and water conservancy facilities; farmland; garden plot; otherland; building land; traffic land; grassland; On the basis of field survey, through the superposition of the remote sensing imageand engineering plan, we get the spatial relationships between the project evaluation areaand sensitive ecological area. According to the relevant laws and regulations, togetherwith the distribution characteristics of engineering construction layout and key protectiongoals, we discussed the feasibility of taking protection and mitigation measures in thesensitive ecological area. On the basis of the above research, combined with field investigation results,3Stechnology and landscape ecology principles, we assessed the environmental impact onthe terrestrial ecological environment of the engineering evaluation area. Furthermore, weraise the issues of the corresponding protection, vegetation reconstruction and ecologicalrestoration measures, in order to provide scientific basis for the construction of theproject, provide useful information and research methods for other linear ecologicalprojects.
