Geological heritage means that within the long geological periods in the Earth’s evolution, since the inner and outer dynamic geological geology formed and preserved the landscape,which has typical features and ornamental value. In recent decades, the Geological heritage in our country has suffered varying degrees of damage, the evaluation as a relic of the preceding work, has also taken more and more attention. Up to now, the evaluation of geological heritage at home and abroad mainly take Geopark as the background, the evaluation factors has strong correlation. Meanwhile there is a strong subjective for factor scores and weights options, which affects the accuracy of the evaluation.In view of the above problems, we used Principal Component Analysis, combined with BP Neural Network, named Multiple Principal Propagation(MPP) by selecting Beijing geological heritage and analyze strengths and weaknesses of various evaluation methods. What’s more, compare the evaluation result with the result of AHP.The conclusion of the issue is as follows:(1)According to the specific conditions of the area’s geological heritage, based on the previous selecting evaluation factors, after the side and front perspective, we chose 14 factors, including scale, scientific value, beauty, security and protection of the status and so on.(2)According to geological background in various regions of Beijing, we elected representative 50 geological heritages and obtained four levels of evaluation criteria and score each factor, by contrasting method, RS / GIS technology and field visits of experts to determine the score.(3)Combined with the actual situation of Beijing’s geological heritage, we use MPP to evaluate these geological heritage, and we get the composite score and finally we get the level of them.(4)Compare the results of the MPP and AHP, in the 50 geological heritage evaluation sample, there are 47 have the same result, but 3 are different. After analysis, we know that the result of the MPP is more scientific.
