Research On Measurement Of Urbanization Level And Space-time Variation Based On GIS In Leshan City

GIS is the system to collect, store, analyze, and display geographic information. It is widely used in various fields. It provides some techniques and tools for urbanization studies, plays a great role in the sustainable development of the region urbanization. The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China report put forward clearly the new strategic task of urbanization, industrialization, informatization, urbanization and agricultural modernization at the same pace. Leshan city is located in the southern part of Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone, as a regional central city of Sichuan province. In the double speed time of industrialization, urbanization and on the background of Tianfu and Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone construction, Leshan city faced with the issue how to accelerate coordinated development of regional urbanizationBased on the 11 districts of Leshan city, the paper used composite indicators to build comprehensive index system of urbanization level, used MATLAB and entropy method to measure the level score of urbanization, analyzed the demographic, economic, social and spatial development of urbanization by the time dimension. Based on the spatial analysis and visualization capabilities of ArcGIS and the component analysis method of SPSS, analyzed the spatial distribution and main driving force. Established the coordination of population-economy-social-space urbanization by the coupling degree and then measured the coordinated development of urbanization in Leshan city. Finally, in order to promoting coordinated development of urbanization in Leshan city, the paper gave strategies and recommendations for the coordinated development of urbanization problems. The conclusions are as follows:(1) Compatibility of urbanization development depends on two factors:one is urbanization level, the other is the coordinated development of the Urbanization subsystems. The coordinated development of regional urbanization should the "population-economy-social-space" system be coordinated with each other.(2) From 2002 to 2012, the comprehensive urbanization of Leshan city has greatly speeded up and enters the period of rapid development, raised by 0.0077 to 0.2877;Showed marked regional differences-"high-middle-low" gradient difference and concentrated distribution, the urbanization levels of North are higher than the South; It formed the layer structure of "core-periphery" variation in space with the core in the Center, to decline around.(3) During the study, in the process of urbanization of Leshan city, the correlation between urbanization level and the proportion of non-agricultural population, the investment in fixed assets per capita, social consumer goods and the number of beds per capita is big, as well as the spatial differentiation, based on ArcGIS and principal component analysis of SPSS.(4) From 2002 to 2012, the comprehensive level of urbanization and coordinated development of each subsystem of Leshan city showed an upward trend in general. Its coordinated development level is divided into three phases-dissonance-transition-coordination. In General, the coupled degree of urbanization of population-economy-social-space is on the rise although at the low stage as well as the districts and counties. It showed significant differentiation, with Shawan-Muchuan as boundary, decreasing from North to South.(5)The coordination development of districts and towns of Leshan city is continuously improved although the level of development has large gap between different districts and towns. The coordinated development of urbanization has been at a low level. The development type is dominated by disorder with regional difference. It formed spatial structure of "circles+axis".(6) The low level of coordination development, the development of regional urbanization and the each subsystem become problems with the development of urbanization in Leshan city. In order to enhance the level of urbanization in Leshan city, some measures should be taken, such as readjusting the industrial structure, enhancing the urban development dynamic, growing central cities, encouraging the development of small towns, consummating urban morphology, alleviating bottlenecks of system, expanding urbanization space, using of land economically and intensively, improving the efficiency of land use.
