According to field investigation, specimens and literature, a catalog of Leguminosae inQinling Mountains was created. Members of the Leguminosae in Qinling Mountains wasstudied from a database developed using the DELTA (DEscription Language for Taxonomy)software package.146characters were collected for184taxa in this database. For taxarecognized, the following information is included: Nomenclature, Synonym, Lifestyle, vegetative and floral morphological characters, flowering and fruiting time, distribution andhabitat data, the system location information. The data are available as an INTKEY interactiveidentification and as natural-language description in rich text format. Then based on this database, the floristic characteristics of Leguminosae in QinlingMountains was analyzed through the floristic geography research method. The results are asfollows:(1) The Leguminosae in this flora consists of8varieties,5subspecies,172species,57genera, in which there are44genera,144species,5subspecies,6varieties native.(2) The geographical elements of the legume flora are comparatively complex. Thetemperate character is obvious, account for61.4%of total genera (included of27genera) and49.1%of total species (included of76species). In the process of analyzing the distributionpattern of China-endemic species, it was found that the legume flora in Qinling Mountainshave some to do with the sichuan-yunnan region.(3) the legume flora has obvious transition properties, mainly reflected in two aspects. On the one hand, the flora from south slope to north slope is transitional from subtropicalnature to temperate nature, on the other hand, the flora from the western to the eastern istransitional from Sino-Himalaya(SH) component to Sino-Japan(SJ) component.(4) the comparison of Leguminous floristic composition between Qinling Mountains andthe Loess Plateau, Pamirs of China, Changbai Mountain, Nanling, Hengduan Mountains showthat, Qinling Mountains has the higher similarity coefficient whit the Loess Plateau than withothers and the lower similarity coefficient with Pamirs of China.
