A Survey And Analysis On Vegetation And Plant Resources In Qipo Forest Park Of Guangxi

Plant resources are the indispensable resource for human survival. They are not only the first productive of ecosystem, but also the foundation to construct forest landscape. Our country has extremely rich plant resources while facing a variety of threats, so it is important to conduct a survey research on the plant resources. The author chooses Guangxi Qipo Forest Park as the study area, focus on its flora, vegetation and plant resources. Then classifies plant resources, evaluates its usage status and analysis the main problems, makes accordingly suggestions for the discovery, protection and rational exploitation of plant resources. The main research result are as follows:(l)The study area include737Species(including varieties, subspecies, Cultivars and formas, the same below) vascular plants belonging to489genera and145families. Consist of29species of ferns from23genera and18families,8species gymnosperms from6genera and6families,700species angiosperms from460genera and121families. There are563species dicotyledons from367genera and103families,16species monocotyledon form93genera and16families in angiosperms.(2)The Qipo Forest Park is located in the trasition area of south subtropical-north tropical zone. Its native vegetation is monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest and evergreen Seasonal Rain Forest. The monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest is Castanea fissa forest, evergreen Seasonal Rain Forest isSchima wallichii and Mallotus japonicw forest. Due to frequent human activities, the natural vegetation is relatively less, meanwhile the plantation is more, and has abundant amount of herbs. Plantations are mainly consisted by Pine and eucalyptus forests. The pine forest area of198.70hm2plus eucalyptus forest area of196.32hm2, which totally accounted76.45%area of the forest park.(3)According to the "China vegetation" classification system and method, vegetation of Qipo Forest Park can be divided into5vegetation type groups,10vegetation types and33formations. Among them there are3vegetation type groups,6vegetation types and17formations of natural vegetation;2vegetation type groups,4vegetation types and16formations of cultivated vegetation.(4)Qipo forest park is a park with a variety range of plant types and abundant biodiversity, the13large types of plant resource can all be found, of which the most abundant medicinal plants, up to477species, followed by flowers and ornamental plants,139species, others in sequence:timber plants (62species), fiber plants (60species), oil plants (54species), soil and water conservation plant (39species), fruit plants (35species), starch plants (31species), aromatic (31species), health beverage plants (26species), forage plants (24species), tannin plants (16species), rare and endangered plants (9species).(5)Plant resource of Qipo Forest Park can be divided into timber, food crops, cash crops, landscape plants and other categories according to their development and utilization status. Problems include:The landscape value of pure plantation is low, fire-prone and easily get diseases and pests; Excellent plant resources are untapped and unused; Colored leaves, fall-color trees are immature scale and poor landscape; Forest Park is lack of specialty brands and limited by the low capacity of development and utilization.(6)Make suggestions, such as:Reform pure plantation to mixed forest; Develop and utilize some excellent plant resources properly in order to creating specialty brands; Increase color leaves, fall-color trees to create color forest landscape; Strengthen external cooperation to explore or introduce new varieties and enrich local plant resources.
