Based on WRF model and GRAPES, the20-year (1986-2005) reanalysis winddataset of South China Sea is established. The seasonal wind analysis based on thedataset shows that there are obvious seasonal variations in Qingshui Bay and adjacentareas. In the influence of typhoons, the wind changes a lot from July to September.SWAN model result shows that the wave also changes seasonally. Summer significantwaves are about0.7m in the bay and mainly from the south, while winter waves aremuch larger under the force of the northeast monsoon. The analysis of typhoon DAMREY in September2005shows that the wind andwaves strongly influence Qingshui Bay. Winds rotate from north to south while waveschanges almost in the same way. Typhoons should be carefully considered in this area. The return period of three representative pointed are calculated. Waves in the Sdirection are strongest in Qingshui Bay but ESE waves are becoming more dominatedin the open seas. The50-year return period wave heights can be6m at P1and8m atP3.
