Negative air ion is able to restrain bacteria, reduce floating dusts, purify the air, and prevent the spread of diseases. Due to its functions, it earns the reputation of being the Air Vitamin and Auxin, and it is widely used as an important air evaluating index. Negative air ion has become an essential eco-tourism resource, because a high density of Negative air ion is aligned with people’ pursuit of longevity, comfortability, and life security. Tianjiling National Forest Reserve, ranked as4A tourist site in China, is located in the downtown of Changsha. It is considered a wonderful place to develop daily landscape viewing and forest tourism. Realizing there is a lack of established studies regarding the Negative air ions in this particular area, this article looking into the periodical and cyclical changing formats of the Negative air ions, is believed to be able to provide more scientific statistics and provide guidance on going in for forest eco-tourism for people and methodologies to later studies. This article used the annual data collected from5different sample environments in Tianjiling National Forest Park. The related data includes the density of the positive and the negative air ions, air temperature, air humidity,PM2.5, and PM10. The study chooses the grassland of compartment complexes, commercial plazas, and the main streets in downtown Changsha as statistical comparisons. Besides, the indoor PM2.5and PM10are also utilized as relative research indexes. All the collected raw data is organized and further analyzed in the softwares such as SPSS17.0and Excel2010. Quantitative analysis methods and qualitative analysis methods are used together in order to discover the correlation between the Negative air ion and the other coefficients. The conclusions reached are as follow.1. The maximum density of the Negative air ion in Tianjiling National Forest Park appears in August in the sample year, and the minimum density appears in January. The seasonal negative air ion density comparison indicates the format that density in Summer>Autumn>Spring>Winter. The daily Negative air ion density reaches the summit in the early morning, hits the floor during the noon, and usually rebounds in the afternoon. 2. Within the different environment samples in Tianjiling National Forest Park, the Negative air ions density ranking from the highest to lowest is the mingled forest, river bank, grassland, forest edge, and the hardened land.3. The density of Negative air ion is significantly and negatively correlated with the daily air temperature, significantly and positively correlated with the air humidity, and significantly and positively correlated with the density of both PM2.5and PM10. Interestingly, the monthly variation of the Negative air ion density suggest a significant positive correlation with the air temperature, and it does not have an obvious connection with air humidity anymore.4. The density of the Negative air ion in Tianjiling National Park is obviously higher than those of the three testing areas in Changsha downtown.5. In the indoor environment where the air temperature and humidity are relatively stable, there is a significant negative relationship between the density of the Negative air ion and those of PM2.5and PM10.6. The Negative air ion generator can rapidly increase the density of the Negative air ion, and thus reduce the density of PM2.5and PM10produced by natural causes or cigarettes smoking, creating an more human friendly environment.
