Design And Implementation Of Alumni Management Information System Based On GIS

This paper is based on the GIS, the alumni information stored in a database, using ArcGIS Server map service, and researching how the Microsoft Corp’s Silverlight technology and REST style architecture will apply to the network map service system development, using Silverlight framework and the ArcGIS Server from ESRI company, developing the alumni management information system with the spatial information query, analysis, abundant visual effects, good user experience,based on REST style architecture, with while improving performance and interactive system to reduce the complexity and improve the system scalability.In this paper, the main research contents include the following:(1) Analysis of the present situation and development trend of the current alumni management information system and the construction problems of the alumni information database, a comprehensive analysis of the electronic map service, based on the research and application status of RIA development WebGIS, Silverlight technology, REST style architecture and so on, research the feasibility of alumni management information system based on GIS to make use of Silverlight technology and REST style architecture development using Silverlight technology and REST style architectur.(2) A comprehensive introduction to construction status of alumni management information system framework data, including the download, storage and release of network electronic map, and alumni information database construction. Specific data for Liaoning Technical University alumni information, obtain alumni information database construction methods, and research data storage and release mechanism. Finalyl analyse updating and maintenance management mechanism of the data and existing problems.(3) Analyse the overall structure of alumni management information system based on GIS, including two parts:the browser and server. Design the overall frame structure of the system, and the operation mechanism of each component in the system. Getting the develoing methods and steps of the alumni resources management information system and the key technologies to realize the system.(4) Based on the WebGIS technology, RIA technology, Silverlight technology, ArcGIS Server platform system,develop alumni management information system, including the system construction background, design principle, system development environment, the overall browsing, function design and realization, realizing the dynamic display, query, analysis, processing and other functions of alumni information.
