Research On Tourism Service WebGIS Based On Silverlight

With the improvement of living standards, people’s consumption structure and entertainment haschanged a lot. Because of its fresh, healthy, open field of vision etc. travel has become one of the mainways of leisure for urbanite. In recent years, many ways of new tourist such as long-distance travel andoutbound tourism have greatly accelerated the development of the tourism industry. The rapid developmentof tourism industry put forward new requirements to the construction of information network platform.Because tourism strongly depends on information, how to establish an effective informative, rich inexpressive and more personalization service network platform, improving the utilization of tourisminformation is a hot spot in current research.With the continuous development of Internet technology and WebGIS technology, the users are notonly focus on functional requirements but also pay more attention to experience in process. Due to thelimitation of traditional HTML, the traditional B/S structure application is hard to meet the requirements ofthe user experience, thus the development framework of network application is into a new stage ofdevelopment---RIA. As a main technology of RIA, Silverlight inherits the excellent properties of HTML,and adopt new description mechanism---XAML, it overcome the limitations of the HTML, then created auser interface applications with richer content and more experience, to make network applicationinnovation in two aspects of function and user experience.This paper through study on RIA technology, Silverlight technology, WebGIS technology and databasetechnology, detailed design for overall framework of tourism service WebGIS system and function of eachmodule based on Silverlight. And taking Kaifeng for example, achieved development of tourism serviceWebGIS based on Silverlight, the main work and achievements include:(1) Elaborated the background and significance of research, the research status and developmentprospect of domestic and international tourism information platform, and researched and summarized therelevant technology applied in process of systems research.(2) The paper designed construction task and the system structure of tourism service WebGIS based onSilverlight, analyzed the main function modules of tourism service WebGIS in detail, and according to the characteristics of the system application and user’s requirements, designed the system database in detail.(3) Taking Kaifeng city as an example to develop the system and then achieved the preliminaryprogram of the system application. Developing include operation of maps, design of tourism auxiliaryprogram, and query service of travel-related information etc, functions including zoom, roaming,full-screen display, hawk-eye, magnifying glass, layer switch, distance measurement, dynamic labeling,query interest point (click query, attribute query, spatial query), travel programs recommended and pathservice etc.In summary, tourism service WebGIS based on Silverlight meet user’s requirements of interaction andexperience. The article has analyzed the tour information system demand from tourist’s angle, designed thetourism service information system function. According to the actual situation, the more detailedfundamental research and the discussion to system construction of some key technologies has done, Finallyrealized based on the Silverlight Kaifeng city tour information platform of relevant functions, providedquery, the analysis and the decision-making function for the tourist.
